Toyota GR GT / Lexus LFR: Here’s what the rumour mill has to say

The Toyota GR GT will finally be revealed later this week. So, we thought it would be a good time to check what the rumour mill has to say.

The production version of the GR GT is likely to be unveiled soon, with the GR GT3 race car set to be announced at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January next year. That said, we don’t expect Toyota to reveal the prices during the upcoming presentation. Rumours suggest that the GR GT’s pricing and availability will be announced in January, while production and sales are expected to kick off in September 2026.

Takashi Uehara, powertrain president at Toyota, has already confirmed a twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine for the GR GT. The Touring version is said to have around 900 hp.

Toyota might also offer a ‘Launch Edition’ of the GR GT. It could feature a special exterior colour and interior trim and will be produced in limited numbers.
